This was a pre-arranged stop on our way to an away game at Derby. They opened early for us. Inside it's like a step back in time to a pub from 50 years ago. Small, friendly and decent pub-grub. I enjoyed a few pints of the Harvest Pale. I really enjoyed my visit. keyser_soze - 14 Feb 2016 21:44 |
This place needs a shake up. There is no competition in Kegworth and as a freehouse it is sadly under-par. Too many blonde beers, disinterested bar staff and probably the worst outdoor area for miles around. Three years ago this was a real ale flagship pub, so what I ask has gone wrong? oxybrig - 16 Sep 2013 12:29 |
To look at it you wouldn't guess but this was CAMRA Leicestershire pub of the year this year and as both the food and drink are spot on I wouldn't argue. drinker333 - 28 Nov 2010 17:40 |
A proper locals' drinking den with a good selection of real ales to chose from. Busy when I was there on a Sunday, perhaps too busy to get a good judgement. dpaajones - 24 Oct 2010 21:59 |
Proper Friendly local. 3 seperate rooms. 8 Real Ales on top form including 1 mild. Traditional Food menu looks good although was not being served due to weekly Sunday Carvery. Real fire added to homely feel. ppw - 27 Dec 2009 17:29 |
