now private residences though pub sign is retained to fool people in to thinking it is still a pub. Snarling_Mallard - 15 Jun 2018 10:49 |
I worked in this pub back in the late 1970s. The owners were the Goughs and it was a very popular place. As a traveling Yank, I had a wonderful time and met many friendly, humorous people. Can't say what it like now, but this place created many happy memories for me. Anyone remember me? roadtripman - 26 Sep 2010 17:19 |
Not a bad pub, but no where near what it was like when the Goughs ran it. Shame. Reverend_UGG - 10 Dec 2004 12:27 |
Located on the brow of Stanmore hill towards Bushey, a relaxed, varnished wood and brass finished old skool English pub. Compact, but with good fresh beer, don't bee decieved by the quiet landlord - he's seen it all before and is just sussing you out. If you fancy a quiet pint with a Sunday paper and a cricket pitch just up the road for summer days - you've found it. Spot on. Stewart - [email protected] - 10 May 2004 15:00 |
