Enjoyable visit - right on the banks of the River Chess - so the walk from Ricksmanworth delivered me to the door. Really nice courtyard full of a pre-wedding party. Inside was quiet - plenty of tables, all with menus, but still had that low ceiling classic pub feel. The food - mainly Thai - looked exceptional. It was lunch, so I made do with a Tuna Sandwich which was great value. As a Fullers tied house, I expected the beer to be good - but I would say this is one of the best ESBs I've ever had. First evening visit and found it a lot different - much more a food venue than a pub. Those not stuffing their gullets with grub seemed out of place. anonymous - 1 May 2016 10:28 |
Still one of the more reasonable pubs in Chesham but it's poor ale selection is easily outshone by the (as of yet) unlisted beer Shop at the Market Place. anonymous - 20 Feb 2016 22:33 |
Fullers Pub of the Year 2013. It goes from strength to strength. Bonzos_beard - 23 Apr 2013 20:57 |
