Called in past for a meal and a drink, both very good. Well prepared food and a good selection of beer. One of many in HB I am sure but well worth a visit. maybe - 13 May 2015 09:16 |
Stopped in for a pint of Black Sheep after a day's cycling recently. It was a boiling hot day and the cool, crisp beer slipped down a treat. I have visited this pub many times over the last ten years and it has now moved its trade more towards dining and group events than drinking. This is hardly surprising though as Hebden Bridge has many cosy little boozers, so a pub of this size has to diversify in order to survive. The beer has always been well kept and sitting outside on a nice summer day hits the spot. cheesyal - 13 Aug 2013 19:47 |
a restaurant masquerading as a pub, too shiny and seemingly inconvenient for drinkers to settle easily. It is is trying to be quite modern but feels baseless and empty in style and clientele - ale is overpriced but well kept. parmantom - 10 Sep 2012 21:15 |
We stayed here weekend of the flood - the rooms are very nice and they have not skimped on the re-furb - good selection of ales but at 3.50 pint!! Also would not sell us a pint of ale after hours (residents) but happy to sell wine or bottled lager both of which I detest. The breakfast was good local ingredients and we were well attended to. kernott1 - 24 Jun 2012 18:32 |
Yes, had an expensive refurb, which is shown through its beer prices. It is Enterprise Inns, so why not search out a proper freehouse and knock a pound off your pint of beer brisk - 24 Apr 2012 12:41 |
