Quite large and very quirky in design with lots of things to catch your eye. Lots of booths and also a kind of indoor tree house seating area; you might say that they have tried too hard, but it all just kinda works. There are lunchtime food offers and the food in general is very good and reasonably priced. With the ‘Cocktails & Dreams’ neon sign behind the bar, this was a definite winner for me (tiny pleasures!) and they also offer happy hour on cocktails everyday 4-8. I ordered drinks not on the menu and asked for a white Russian – unfortunately worst one ever. The staff however are very friendly, chatty and efficient. Some staff are better at the cocktails than others. I would say this is a trendy diner by day and predominantly a cocktail bar in the evenings. It does get very busy and that’s when service gets sluggish as everyone is ordering cocktails. Well worth a visit though. B3XTER - 5 Jun 2014 17:04 |
Went here for the first time last night and thought I'd walked into an open sewer. It was early on and all of our group complained about the smell which reminded me of campIng too near the portaloos at a festival. We were well looked after by our servers (as long as you didn't go to the bar because they ignored one of our group). I ordered a Guinness and it came with a head that took up half the glass. I asked the waitress to top it up but she told me that it 'would settle' - I disagreed and she reluctantly took it away. She shouldn't have bothered because I can honestly say that it was the worst-tasting Guinness I have ever tasted. None of us will be going back. VodkaBitter - 3 Jun 2012 08:57 |
