Nice enough place but I have to express concerns about the dirty filthy gents toilet where there are two sinks, one of which has a broken hot water tap and the panel beneath these has been hanging off for the past 6 months or so not to mention there is a small bowl in the cubicle beneath the cistern to catch a leak which constantly gets knocked over causing the floor to flood. In the circumstances I would advise against wearing a nice pair of shoes. mysterypubguest - 5 Dec 2015 17:48 |
A lively visit which saw the pub cat catch a mouse and trail around the floor in triumph, a tail hanging from its mouth - others might be appalled but I found this to be en enjoyable slice of Camden verite. Beers were somewhat disconcertingly named after Tory Prime Ministers and from the Greene King stable but the place does have a nice local feel and is a world away from the touristy end of Camden. In last Wednesday and as well as the usual great beer and food there were about 12 folk musicians playing the most wonderful stuff!! - I counted 4 fiddles! A total surprise!! Fantastic. HoHoHo - 31 Jan 2014 15:27 |
Decent place. I've never really settled on a pub I like in Camden, but this place comes closest. Good mix of people, and the old boys at the bar haven't been totally airbrushed out of the picture by the monied media drones that largely populate Camden these days. Beer's not that great (Speckled Hen, and they just don't seem to keep it that well) but the character kind of makes up for that. Thai food is pretty good, too. dead_celeb - 10 Jul 2012 12:01 |
My favourite pub in Camden, really friendly and comfortable. Gets busy at weekends - nice mixed crowd. OlderthanGod - 2 Mar 2011 10:59 |
