The Green Dragon is an early 17th Century country Inn situated in the picturesque rural village of Flaunden, in the Chiltern Hills. This ancient rural pub is a free house and has been in the same family for over eighty years. Four well kept beers on and a nice secluded beer garden out back. A good one for the pub enthusiasts as it is included in the Heritage pub national inventory for the barely altered 19th century Tap Room which you can find back inside the main building on the front right hand side of the main bar area. And also has some interesting historical figures as former locals.. But to find out about all that you are better off going to more informative pub review sites like PubsGalore. jimshoppenus - 8 Aug 2013 11:48 |
Recently been added to the National Inventory of Pubs of Historic Interest. Exceptionally good. suggestion_tryAnewBEER - 8 Oct 2010 12:16 |
The person who said 'new management' was wrong. This pub has been in the same family for generations and is the most genuine of local pubs anyone could wish to visit. This pub embodies everything I love about English pubs. That should be enough, but I feel the need to elaborate... Bar staff that make the punter feel appreciated. Punters that are wonderful to converse with. An atmosphere that just says "welcome!" Everything you could honestly wish for in a boozer. Countess_Bathory - 28 Feb 2010 08:08 |
Brilliant fusion of traditional country pub and innovative menu. I've been here quite a few times recently and the atmosphere is just right. the beer is always well kept even if the range is limited ... But so what - I'd rather know I was going to get a decent pint than have to be adventurous. The food is good value (and yes the Thai can be on the hot side). dGriz - 23 Nov 2009 13:39 |
A decent pub and much more of a local than the Bricklayers Arms just down the road. Food was fine, but the beer choice was a little staid; I mean in all honesty, who in their right mind drinks the awful Greene King IPA these days? All in all though, not a bad boozer. Redriley - 26 Sep 2007 16:00 |
