This pub has been under new take over for a while now and they have really made it 1000 times better! i go here every week and have the best time all the punters get along, and the bar staff are wicked. The drinks are good now, they do decent food and cocktails too and its really nice and clean. I would recommend it to everyone who is down for a good night. ciderislife - 15 Oct 2016 20:11 |
This was a favourite pub of mine years back. And like most pubs, there's always a mixture of different kinds of people and attitudes and moods. There's no point attacking individual staff in comments as pub staff are a) often temporary and b) a matter of personal taste. There have been several pubs that I've avoided on certain nights depending on who is working that night - and many more pubs that I've gone too on purpose because of who's working that night. If someone told me that Liam and Brenda were back in The Copper Horse, for example, I would take steps to move BACK to Windsor because they were fantastic. Perhaps people (punters) should try to be a little more open and engaging? That 'foreign sounding' barmaid might have a masters degree in engineering for all we know. prfctday - 12 Jun 2013 15:10 |

Can't believe what i'm reading here. This pub is a great example of a traditional British pub. Yes it is a bit rough and ready but not everyone wants a trendy yuppie wine bar (of which Windsor has bloody hundreds) It's just far enough from the town to never be overcrowded with tourists and is probably one of my favourite pubs in Windsor. Its great if like me and my mates u want a boozer with a fairly decent juke box, a pool table and a pub that isn't packed full of hoorah henry's. We've never had a problem with the bar staff and if you actuall bother having a chat with them you will find they are alright enough. A good place if you want to go for a quiet pint after work or have a laugh with friends. Always made welcome when I go there. DedworthWall - 9 Feb 2009 18:32 |
A dull dismal dive with sky high prices, definitely worth a miss. The landlord's son has delusions about being James Bond and thinks he's a hired assassin. You can spot him by his Alice band and scruffy matted hair. A foriegn sounding barmaid has the same problem, except she's got more ironmongery in and on her face and hands. If you like to be greeted by a grunt, definitely the place to go. The language in the bar is appalling, prices are way over the top, you can buy beer almost a 1 cheaper in the centre of Town. Camra members should give this one a wide berth. The 'real ale' comes from the beginners guide to chemistry. davy_crockett - 1 Nov 2008 10:00 |
