Directly opposite the station and worth a visit for the historic interior. 3 casks, the London Pride I tried was fine.

Hmm ..some interesting reviews and I can't say that I was in there long enough to get a real feel for much negativity- friendly locals even had a picture with the famous alezilla....two pints of doombar- ok- tedious and predictable but was good nonetheless....as said, fabulous victorian interior which is worth a visit in itself- the big screen playing tired pop hits wasn't too bad when I was in there and in fact, had a quite a nice time- didn't try food bar staff seemed ok- a 6 from the AZ

This could be a lovely pub; what a pity it isn't. Gorgeous interior with original features amid the pseudo-Victorian standard pub trinkets, but - oh dear - playing the radio very loud throughout the pub, big screens and badly-kept ales let it down. Two hand pumps, one was off (Doom Bar) and the Hancocks had the taint of vinegar, but "everyone else has been drinking it" (what would I know, I'm only a CAMRA member?). The drunk old men at the bar making snidey comments added the finishing touch to a hasty drink.

Well,i have to say-since the new managers have arrived.things have gone down hill..accommadation was awfull-should be 10 pounds per night..and the food is available when managers say it is..i have complained to chapmans-who i believe to uncare for there customers..as the nightclub-has fights and very load music-which hotel guests do not want to hear at 2.a.m...in the morning...no refund was offered and no apoligy..beer was also kept very poorly-like the lines had not been done!..chapmans have a lot to contend with-if they want to live up to a grand hotel..im afraid the should be called dull-hotel...bring back the old managers-which did a great job..new managers were drinking on duty too-which i found very sad!

This pub is worth visiting just to see the fantastic interior - late Victorion Gin Palace style with touches of Art Nouveau. Only downside is the huge TV screen. Beer was Sharps & Harveys at a very reasonable 2.50. Very handy for the station and highlt recommended.
