Popped in yesterday on my way into Worthing town centre from the railway station. Had a super pint of Adnams Southwold bitter and chatted for half an hour with the Landlord who greeted me very warmly, The pub was quiet but I could just feel a century of more of atmosphere here and it really is (to use an over utilised cliche), a traditional pub. If I lived locally I'd certainly make it a regular haunt. OleAleMan - 7 Jul 2016 14:02 |
Visited again last month after an absence of about 4 years. Nothing much changed inside. Was a fairly busy Sunday lunchtime with people waiting for the raffle. Beer choice disappointingly poor for a CAMRA good beer guide pub. 4 beers on arrival shortly went down to 3 with the barman stating it would be 2 shortly. Left only with a choice of Adnams or greene King and no prospect of the other pumps having other beers put on so we left and went elsewhere greeny3 - 6 Mar 2014 15:05 |
A nice corner plot locals pub, about a 5 minute walk from Worthing station. A selection of 3 ales on the pumps of which the Summer Lightening I had was very good. Busy with locals that created a homely atmosphere, contrary to the other reports myself and my crowd had no problem getting served. All in all a decent locals pub that should be sought out when in worthing. lezford - 31 Dec 2012 14:06 |
OK so the beer is none to bad, the garden area passes muster but for crying out loud I do not like to be kept waiting by the bar person sending a text on the mobile!! Locals not all that friendly either! The_Sloven - 25 May 2012 00:07 |
Good back street local with proper beer. The mild was Ansells. They do now have a basic bar menu, pasty, chips and beans being typical. A gastro pub it aint but thank the Lord for that! A good pub in an area strangely devoid of good pubs. Farmie - 7 Nov 2010 20:41 |
