This pub was redeveloped over the summer and its character has been completley destroyed. the other posts here all seem to make reference to before this unhappy occurance. Here's a heads up, -The pub has been gutted -old interior replaced by ubiqutous chrome/glass Westport-esque 'trendy' (allegedly) look I actually met the designer of the new look and and told him how he could stick his new order up whence it came. longsdon - 17 Dec 2006 17:54 |
Most time whiled away in Drouthys is spent discussed how great it is! Perfect for propping up the bar in the afternoons with a pint, as well as for getting wasted on the sofas and always lively on a friday/wkend evening. Frequented by both locals and students, and also the odd celebrity! james6286 - 10 Feb 2006 02:19 |
Yea, its a decent pub. Of course, any pub is going to struggle when its in the same town as Aikmans Cellar bar, but Drouthys does it well. Not particularly good choice of beer though. Can aquire blow up sheep (as well as other items) from vending machines in the toilet. Iceman - 17 Apr 2005 00:30 |
Bit dark and smoky for my taste. Weird glass panel in wall. Narrow room. Good beer selection - but a bit pricey. Are the walls brown with nicotine, or is it deliberate? Interesting ceiling decor. KEITH TAIT - 27 Jun 2004 15:28 |
Nice little pub with good traditional theme and great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and helpful and the food and drink are top notch - well worth a visit. Also has good music playing and a number of different events on during the week including happy hours, a good quiz and jazz evenings. Hannah Melville - 24 Mar 2004 15:59 |
