I popped in here with a lady friend yesterday lunchtime, & was very pleasantly surprised indeed! I normally walk past it if on my own, but my friend wanted to try it as a new place. As mentioned by a previous reviewer, there were two Pride clips on show, & no other choice of real ale; but for the first of the day in an all-day crawl, I could accept that! It was a nice, relaxed, quiet atmosphere, with comfy seating & a friendly landlord & efficient barstaff: excellent! renzarov - 1 Feb 2016 20:28 |
Sizeable wedge-shaped building which I had always assumed was a standard issue footie 'n lager pub given the array of promotional tat outside. However, having finally decided to venture in rather than just walking past as I had always done before, I was surprised to find a large island bar and some reasonable seating near the pointed end of the bar. Further back there are several pool tables. They even had two handpumps with Pride clips on, and after some debate between the bar staff as to whether it was on or not, a pint was finally produced (which wasn't great, but was at least drinkable). Has quite the most prominent pub name signs on the sides of the building (even more so than shown in the main photograph now they have been replaced). rpadam - 16 Dec 2009 21:58 |
The 'richie richardson' is an immense boozer, cant understand why folk are complaining about 1.70 a go on a lager? Also it has PREM ON TAP! bit disappointed that they dont show lower league football but hey you cant have everything. The only other negative is that they dont have a dart board and that. However, immense juke-o and that, pool tables and that, large screen and that and a great buzz kicking around and that. Happy Days...... W6! Sam_D - 1 Mar 2007 14:39 |
I echo the sentiments of the guy below me. It's the only place around here where you can be gauranteed a game of pool due to the plethora of tables. The drinks prices are great and everybody is friendly. Not the kind of place to go if you are on the pull since its usually 95% men but still by far my favourite pub in Shepherds Bush. I really like this pub, but then I like 'old men's' pubs. The decor is mangy (although not dirty), but the barstaff are very friendly, selected drinks are very cheap (don't expect top quality, but nothing horrendous), the music is varied and interesting, the pool tables are almost always available, and it's got a few outside benches on the pavement. The clientele is generally getting a bit younger and hipper, but you can still find it populated by staring old men. That said, I've never had any trouble, or heard so much as a raised voice. Fully recommended as a cheap, comfy place to meet your mates. bbx1138 - 13 Jul 2006 16:25 |
