The Queens Head does seem to be a lot busier since it has changed ownership and had a lick of paint. However this appears to be due to the fact that the new management will serve anyone! The language coming from the bar was shocking as was the racism which I heard being spouted by what appeared to be a group of regulars at the bar (at as very loud volume!!) Listening to some of the chat and the general atmosphere makes me believe that this pub has become popular with the traveller community. Only stayed for one pint (my girlfriend left her drink and just wantd to go to the Black Jug for some civil company) Can't comment on food as we were a bit to intimidated to stay. A very friendly and welcoming pub within walking distance to the local town, bedrooms and evening meals available and are both of high quality, all beit no en-suites, but at the price is more than a minor dis-comfort in todays climate of high expense hotels. 4 large screen TV's, 2 Pool tables and a lot of entertainment / activities listed. Well kept pumps and all though only a small choice of beers at present, all are of excellent quality. The evening meals and aspecially the Sunday roasts are to die for and resonably priced too. All in all an excellent night out, was intended as a starting point, but we ended up staying the whole weekend. Jambler - 26 Sep 2010 12:55 |
I always used to look forward to popping in here when visiting Horsham FC during its King & Barnes days. Sadly I can't get excited about Hall & Woodhouse beers and my pint of Fursty Ferret was mediocre. Horsham FC have gone now too, as well as K&B. Rich66 - 13 Aug 2008 22:38 |
This pub is the closest to Horsham FCs ground. It is a barn of a place but it still manages to be snug and warm in the colder months. Although Im not usually a fan of Hall & Woodhouse beers, the Tanglefoot I had in here the other day was very good indeed. Ordinary - 29 Sep 2007 22:07 |
