| Took a punt and booked in for lunch yesterday without knowing anything about this pub. Glad we had reserved a table for six people as it was very busy even though they had told us on the phone that a Tuesday would probably be quiet! Ciabattas were excellent, no doubt reflecting the quality that has become the norm in this town. | Paid a couple of visits here last week. This is a local's haven in a sea of pushy needy tourists with their god like offspring who seen to infect most of the other bars in Padstow. If you are ok with being in a down to earth, no frills proper pub, don't miss The Golden Lion. Good range of beer's, the lagers are a bit run of the mill, but fine all the same. They do food, and if you wish, have a separate area opposite the kitchen away from the bar area if you want to avoid the local's enjoying themselves. fetchman - 5 Nov 2012 12:56 |
