| Just to get this out of the way: there isn't a single ale on tap, the lager can be dodgy at times and the less said about the floor downstairs the better. However, this is one of the liveliest and most exciting pubs I've ever been in. It hosts any number of gigs and has served my band well over the years. It's in a great location if you want to meet people from other parts of the city, it's open till 3am on Friday & Saturday (& 1am on Sunday) and was the only place in town I could find that was open on Xmas Eve. Most of the staff are absolutely great and I'd say it has a good atmosphere. It's not a very refined pub, it's never going to win any awards from CAMRA, but it's certainly one of the best places to go boozing in Manchester. Mike_Avery - 2 Nov 2009 18:29 |
