My Lord it brought back some memories going in there....used to be a regular to the UMIST Saturday night rock scene for YEARS! Great times. 'Harry' himself was the Indian bar manager in those days....great to see him honoured and remembered by naming the refurbished bar after him. Real character....then there was Nellie, the lady behind the bar, and the (Seemingly) really old guy who collected glasses...never spoke, hearing aid turned off to avoid the pounding hard rock music...tartan 'Younger's' jacket on...pushing his cart around, oblivious to the madness all around him..lol... Anyhow, it was never a real ale fans pub really, though do remember the Boddies back then was good stuff.. Pretty much generic beers on now to cater for the modern student tastes...though had none on the night we tried it, they said they do have cask ales usually... Anyone who remembers it from the old times should go take a look at it...! Blue_Order - 29 Jul 2009 11:36 |
Exceedingly cheap beer, outdoor steating too. The bitter is good in here judging by the number of old fogeys mixing with the nubile students. I'd give it an 8 but the hassle I've had trying to find an accurate street and postcode cost it a point I'm afraid! Nige - 8 Apr 2003 23:47 |
