Decent enough pub that seems to have had an internal makeover so it matches the current Marston's corporate style (it's very similar to a couple of new build pubs we know) while keeping the outside as it was. The beer was good, Pedigree was in good condition and Milady's Cockerhoop (Jennings) was fine. The food was maybe a bit unimaginative and pre-cooked, but OK for the price. There's nothing wrong with the pub, but there are better bets in town Royed - 18 May 2015 18:45 |

Some good beers on the bar. Nice atmosphere in a fairly well preserved Victorian pub. Long may it remain so. vladtheimbiber - 22 Jul 2012 19:00 |
Average busy town pub with a few ales on. Tried a pint of Jennings Cocky Blonde which was reasonable enough. anonymous - 10 Jul 2011 12:52 |
Just for the record this is a Marston's pub and not a Marston Moor one as listed here. As tarkatherotter says not a lot of character, I prefer the Swan or the Sun Inn. TiaMariaJim - 24 Oct 2010 22:15 |
