The Flask, Highgate

Maybe it's presumptuous of me to review this place when I didn't even have a drink
But the thing is, I couldn't just have a drink. Every table I could see was laid for food. Well, except for one, and that was occupied. And I'm not sitting outside in the smokers' ghetton in the middle of December
Look, I like eating in pubs. Pub Grub is great. But when every table in sight is laid out with knives, forks, wineglasses and napkins, it makes me feel unwelcome if I only want a quick beer.

Bridge Inn, Horton

Nice Wadworths beers and a decent steak in a friendly atmosphere. What more could you want?

A canalside location you say? Sorted.

The Kings Arms, All Cannings

Excellent little pub with a decent range of Wadworth's beers (IPA, 6X, Horizon) and good honest food. Lovely staff (the landlord couldn't fit us in to eat on our second night but was quite happy to call ahead to his mate at a another pub for us)

We'd just missed (by a week) their now annual open air rock festival in aid of cancer research. Seriously thinking about making the trip next year.
