I found the food excellent, basic but plentiful. Good value for money!!! Service was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful despite their age (see previous review!!!). Gorgeous pub with great surroundings, would reccomend to anyone for a good place to eat and meet friendly people. Garden was beautiful with the river running beside it, good quaint and traditional pub! Jenny218 - 4 Jun 2012 14:17 |
After more upheaval caused by the brewery trying to squeeze every last penny from their landlords, a new guy has been installed. Food is apparently really good, but the I.P.A. is freezing, so won't be drinking there any more until that's sorted. They seem very eager to close early each night- the clean-up of the bar starts long before what most people would expect. quietriot - 18 Nov 2011 21:17 |
Awful atmosphere, no food, no customers. I believe under new management, again. valtojos - 11 Oct 2011 00:40 |
A welcoming little pub which I have visited on quite a number of occasions recently. Ate there last week - the menu is pretty much all-Italian and there is plenty to choose from. The carbonara was excellent. Good beer (the ubiquitous GK IPA + guests), polite service and a cosy country atmosphere consistent with its olde-worlde thatched roof exterior. Real fire in the winter a plus. I believe the manager is relatively new and he seemed like a very nice bloke. I will continue to come back. 4_ale - 19 Jul 2010 17:01 |
After a highly successful period being 'managed' this pub has now completed the transition from a clean, friendly place to one where it takes ages to get served, the staff don't appear to know what's going on or who's in charge and poor quality beer. quietriot - 4 Jul 2009 12:02 |
