Has since closed and reopened as Abbey - something to do with the same people that run Tiger Tiger so I'm told. Not a pub, but a "Bar" instead. Downstairs is DJs and loud tunes on a Friday and probably Thursdays also. Full of City workers but seems a nice enough place. its_begun - 17 Dec 2008 15:53 |

If you find yourself low on funds towards the end of the month this is the perfect bar. Pretty much all beers and wines are on special (pint of Fosters 1.75), this is all day every day. Usually has a lively crowd in there on a Thursday and Friday night and a fairly even mix of boys and girls, the girls usually being of a good standard (but then again cheap beers seem to go down so much quicker so after a while they all look like alright). Wouldnt spend all night in there but a great bar to start in, also does good, reasonably priced, food if you want to line your stomach before heading off for a big night out in the City. Ok, it's not the best bar in the world (it's a chain bar - what do you expect?) but it's really not bad. It's recently has a refurb and new menu. The food is good the drinks are cheap and it looks pretty nice. That it's full of young drunk people on a friday is not a shock, but I'd rather go there than go somewhere where I get to pay double for the same quality of drinks and listen to old drunk suits shout about how much money they made that week (and I'm not 'back office staff'). I'm an IT guy and I think that this is a poor excuse for a pub. Decor, beer quality, clientele, price, staff, all these things come in below average. Rex Jacobus - 23 Jul 2004 10:57 |
