Unfortunately Spirit the pub chain which the Queen’s Head was in is now owned by Greene King. Gone are guest ales from good, local brewers like Windsor & Eton. They have been replaced bland beer from Greene King and there is not much else if you would prefer something other than a dark, malty beer. Four out of six ales when I visited were Rocking Rudolph, Abbott Ale, Old Speckled Hen and GK IPA, all from Greene King. Another was the ubiquitous Doom Bore. I had Brains Rev James. It was OK but, like nearly all the rest, was another dark, malty beer.

Went in there on Saturday night. The barmaid was talking to a couple of friends at the bar. She ended the conversation but instead of serving me, walked stright past me to clean some glasses. A barman appeared behind the bar but he ignored me too. At that stageI gave up and left.
Can't help feeling that this pub takes itself a little too seriously.

Was in here Friday evening after the Middlesex v Somerset cricket game. It's the best pub in Uxbridge in my opinion. Located just off the High Street down a side street, it is fairly small inside and seating can be difficult to find. Luckily there is a small room at the rear that often has a spare table. Sky News was showing on the TVs and the pub was fairly popular with the post-cricket crowd. Discounts on real ale are offered for CAMRA card holders. Ales were Cotleigh Tawny Owl & Commando Hoofing, Brains The Rev James, Binghams Twyford Tipple & Berkshire Bee, Twickenham Summer Sun & Fullers London Pride. The cider was Westons Family Reserve.
