user reviews of Yard of Ale, Broadstairs

please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

A lovely micro pub in St. Peters within walking distance of Broadstairs.
The building is a very old flint building which I believe used to be a stable attached to an undertakers. The main room looked very comfy, though as it was a warm evening we sat outdoors in the garden which has seating for about 40.
There is a serving window for those sitting outside so they don't have to enter the bar. There is also food available though we didn't partake.
The girl serving was very friendly.
The real ale was however a little disappointing in the choice- Plateau, Papa Jangles Stout and Red Kite. There was also several ciders available.
I'm sure there is a swift turnover of real ales so the choice will be completely different on a future visit.
I have to say the Plateau was tasted very nice!

Sadly, the Yard of ale didn't win the CAMRA pub of the year title. A worthy runner up though and well worth stopping off for a beer if you are in the area!

Got to post again...the pub is shortlisted in the top 4 'best pubs in the land'....and well deserved too! Results are out in February so watch this space!

All of whar Steamer said and more....a lovely little micropub ably run by Shaun, Ian and the rest of the team. A good selection of ever changing beers, no wifi, jukebox or tv.

Absolutely wonderful experience. This micropub is situated in an old flint stable. The 3 real ales and 3 cider/perrys are served on gravity and are temperature controlled. There are snacks, a wood stove, a "garden" and a very friendly landlord/owner. This was the first of three micropubs we visited in Broadstairs on Saturday and wish we didn't have to travel so far.
