Was pleasantly suprised by the interior, some character and good atmosphere. Went around 6pm so busy, but not overly. Good selection of beers. If you have a little time spare before your train well worth a visit. car1953 - 26 Feb 2016 22:03 |
Probably not as inspiring as some of the other Station Taps but a great selection of beers including Black Sheep Imperial Russian Stout. Bar staff take a great interest in being knowledgeable about the beers. Better range of snacks than in other Taps and customers being very complimentary about quality. Rocky53 - 7 Jan 2016 16:49 |
It's a good formula - real ales in old station buildings done out in old fashioned railway bar style. I do feel though that they are becoming a bit much of a muchness. As a one off you'd say it's good but this could be the one in .... well any other place they have a station tap. Couldn't fault the ales - maybe pricey for South Yorkshire but this is well to do North Yorkshire. As per usual all the ales tried were could and obviously handy for the station. anonymous - 5 Jun 2015 18:22 |
5th and final pub in Harrogate after managing 4 of the 6 I set out to visit. We only had a small amount of time to kill so it made sense to stop here. Having visited a few station taps I was under no illusions what to expect price wise and this one was no different, though its a very decent place for beer. A great choice of ales on the cask which were numbering a dozen, along with another 9 on keg with the majority of these being American. My first pint was Black Sheep Breweries Reaper @ 4.1%, followed by Baildon Brewing Company Brunette @ 3.9%, both were excellent. The plus for this place is it's location which is perfect for the train & bus stations, the size of it and the decor, speed of service, how knowledgeable the bar staff are and of course the ale choice. Now to the down side of these 'trendy' tap bars, they take the p**s a bit on their non ale drinks and their snacks. All ales on tap have clearly displayed prices but every other drink and snacks appear to have hiked up prices. Bad point aside this is a cracking pit stop with very good beer. lezford - 5 Oct 2014 15:51 |
Great new addition to the Harrogate pub scene, and a great dropping off point for those travelling between Leeds and York on the scenic Harrogate railway line. Very much in the style of the other 'Tap' pubs at York and Sheffield, with a good choice of both real ales and craft keg beers. Only warning - check prices before you buy; some are more London than Yorkshire (Hand pulled Magic Rock High Wire at £4 a pint is just having a laugh) arihall - 29 May 2014 07:17 |
