A decent, busy pub in Media City with well kept cask ales. A little pricy at £3.80 a pint, but it is in a prime location I suppose! alexw - 13 Apr 2019 19:54 |
Was in here for a drink and a bite to eat with my wife last weekend. I had a pint of Gather Round Beer Stout which slipped down very nicely with my meal of pie and sweet potato chips. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would have loved to have stayed and sampled a few more, maybe another time. I think there were 6 or 8 pumps available, if memory serves me correctly. This is by far the best bar in this part of Salford. It has a good selection of craft ale from around the UK and beyond including a fair few from local brewer First Chop. Their is a good selection of food available and most of the staff are friendly and helpful. Beer is at craft beer bar prices rather than local pub prices but given the location that isn't much of a surprise. rcaller - 24 Jun 2014 17:39 |
This place is next door to the new BBC media city complex which is probably why the prices are a bit steep. I expected Dom littlewood to stop me from buying a pint and say "don't get done get Dom". Staff are a bit like robots and seem more interested in filling the fridges than serve customers. The real ale was on form but would like to see more local micro breweries on offer. Very mixed feelings about this place. My original visit was quite promising with prices on the reasonable side. However, after a recent visit and a price hike to £3.80 a pint I'm totally put off. Seems to me that they've clocked on that with the BBC brigade moving up from "the smoke" and have raised prices accordingly. More alarmingly, they display in full view on a blackboard, full breakfast £8.30!!! How ludicrous? realalerules1983 - 29 Apr 2014 22:19 |
