Not great, it has to be said. Beer is rather pricey, even the draft, which only sidles in at 'OK' quality. The outdoor seating area down the left side of the Lowry building is nice, but unfortunately the girder that runs along the length of the fencing at the top completely blocks your view of the water - very annoying and a complete waste of a glorious location. If the bar was open all of the time, even with it's high-end prices it would probably do very well. However, the sporadic opening hours lead to degraded stock and a lack of experienced, regular bar staff, and it shows. The bar is expensive and barely viable due to poor management. Particularly with the continuing regeneration of the Quays, it needs to be open more, not less. anonymous - 20 Jun 2007 12:18 |
Just been to watch the pantomine with the whole family. Went to the bar after the show and it was closed. Finally managed to find someone who works there and was told it was not viable for the bar to be open after performances. SHOCKING. A theatre that doesn't have a bar good God - shall not be going there again - will stick with The Palace & Opera House. porsk - 7 Jan 2006 19:16 |
Looks nice, and I'd love to get out onto that balcony bit for a sit in the fresh air overlooking the, erm, round square. Unfortunately there never appears to be anyone serving. Ever. :o( anonymous - 22 Jun 2005 19:32 |
Overpriced beer - Boddingtons hasn't travelled well or they don't clean thir lines. Forget about getting a drink at interval time - hardly anyone to serve you - disgusting service in fact, usually students - take your own in if you can. anonymous - 31 Jan 2005 19:08 |
