| Used to be the Sandsifter, now the Rockpool. Nice bar and trendy interior, but remember that outside there is just a large deck next to the car park - whilst you can here the sea it is a few hundred yards away behind the dunes. I use this sometimes after surfing... The NT car park (just up the small road past the bar) is free to members making it pretty handy what with Cornwall car parking costs. On a surf note, just remember the area around the Red River mouth is often red flagged at high tides. Back to the Rockpool; A couple of really nice beers from The Wooden hand brewery in Grampound, Cornish Buccaneer and Black Pearl, along with a West country orchards cider. There were also plenty of continental lagers, but BE CAREFUL! Sharpes Pilsner was £5 a pint.... Aaaargh.... The only reason I am not giving this place a low mark is because the barmaid to her credit warned me when I ordered it and I rapidly changed my mind.
