We have dined here about five times over the last year, and loved it very much (especially the fish & chips). I treated my girlfriend to Christmas dinner there, which was more expensive than the traditional menu but we thought would be excellent. However, it was very average, and the portions were very small. Nothing christmassy about it, no crackers, no decorations (Christmas candle on the table - un-lit). After 3 courses we were still hungry (really not what we expected from a Christmas dinner) and the food splatters on the wall and skirting board were still there from the last time we went. Turkey, sausages with bacon and four measly little roasties are fairly cheap to prepare, and although they were all nice, I expected a full plate for my money. Presentation alone is not good enough for the price. I did mention this to the waitress, who was lovely, but didn't offer us anything extra. I'm not a large person, I work hard to keep my self fit, so when I pay good money for a three course Christmas meal as a treat, I want the opportunity to be "full". We will no longer be visiting, which is a shame as we have been enjoying and recommending this place all year, however "two strikes and you're out" in my book. Goodbye Chevin. On recent visit, TT Landlord was ok. Food was overpriced and greasy together with slow service, although we were the only diners. Overcharged for drinks. Not recommended. ShyTalk - 10 Sep 2010 13:04 |
Popped in late on several evenings because it is five minutes walk from the camp site. TT Landlord and Copper Dragon Golden Pippin on offer and in good form. Popular with diners, the menu looked rather pricey. GazzaTheBeerMan - 5 Aug 2010 13:38 |
small pub part of a small chain , never eaten here although its only a 10min walk from home but and this is the best but the views from the beer garden must be one of the best in britain you can see for miles and miles down the spectacular lower wharfe valley.. loiner8 - 21 Jul 2010 19:45 |
