paul d102 is correct. My comment below from 4.10.13 was intended for the Cross Inn, Strawberry Hill, Penally. Pat_Bateman - 21 Dec 2016 16:03 |
The references in the last review to SA Brain's and the town wall/beach suggest it may have been intended for the Crown in Tenby which is not listed on BITE. To further confuse readers, the Crown in Penally closed a few years ago and was converted to residential use so I suspect that Pat Bateman's October 2013 review was also intended for another pub - the Cross Inn in Penally which I visited today and which sells Penally Old Codgers (a Molson Coors brew for £3) and Doom Bar (and Reverend James). Guess what, the Cross is not listed on BITE either. If it was, I would have awarded it 8/10 on the strength of its GBG beer. paul_d102 - 19 May 2015 20:49 |
Nice traditional little pub just inside the town wall a stones throw from the beach. Very small outside space. 5 ales on tap -Brain's SA, Abbots and three regularly changing pumps, often fairly local stuff. Plus at least one beer straight from keg on the back of tbe bar at weekends. Also one hand pimp for Addlestones cider. dwarfer - 13 Jun 2014 19:30 |
This is an excellent little pub, in a lovely little village. If the sun is out, it would be hard to find a more relaxing spot to sit outside and have a pint than here ... the pub is slightly elevated and looks out over part of the Links golf course, then the beach and sea and even part of Caldey Island. Locals were some real characters and made us feel very welcome. Doom Bar was excellent. Didn't try the Penally Old Codgers. Taffy Apple cider in bottles was also very very nice. Food was also very decent pub grub. We had planned in staying in Tenby, but couldn't find any cottages to rent that would allow dogs. In the end we were glad we were forced further out to Penally, as we were a 2 minute walk from this pub. Tenby is only a 30 minute walk away straight along the beach. Dog friendly also. Hope to return some day. Pat_Bateman - 4 Oct 2013 10:50 |
