| Great pub. Sadly, it is currently shut until further notice. Allegedly due to the unreasonable stance of the pub company which owns it. | Great pub! The couple that own the pub are really friendly and welcoming. A good selection of lagers and a handful of ales. Pool table in good condition, and a fantastic smoking area outside with loads of space. Even a large beer garden for the summer. Is very popular considering the high number of pubs in the area. | I visited the York the other day and was extremely surprised to see it is back to its old self again. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere great and beer good. I did not intend to eat when I went in but was tempted by what I saw emerging from the kitchen and was not disappointed. A plateful of fresh local ingredients hit the spot. | The York Tavern is getting back to its old self again!! New management has made a big difference and this pub has started to get back on the circuit again! Went last night and the acoustic night upstairs was excellent with local artists performing. | My first visit in a while - not because it had a bad reputation, but there are simply so many options in the area. It was 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, so was understandably fairly quiet.
