Shiremoor House Farm is another Fitzgerald's place. It's more of a restaurant than a pub. But there's a good selection of ales and ciders - Anarchy Blonde Star, Three Kings Dark Side of the Toon & Ring of Fire, Great North Eastern Rivet Catcher & Thistly Cross Strawberry Cider & Ginger Cider. The interior is spacious and seemed to have a vaguely medieval feel. This place was far better than I had expected. But it's a bit out of the way. blue_scrumpy - 14 May 2016 17:54 |
The beer selection is looking up. Went in a few weeks ago and they had on six ales. Beers included King Rat from the Rat Brewery in Huddersfield, a new brewery to me and Roosters Cheers. Food was excellent too. I think the manangement has changed recently. zipdiskdude - 15 Nov 2011 13:52 |
Popped in the other night to see what was on. More of a food oriented place, but they had Mordue Workie Ticket, Timothy Taylors Landlord and Greene King IPA. Tried the Workie Ticket and Landlord, both well kept. zipdiskdude - 10 Jun 2011 12:51 |
The food here is one of the main draws, serving excellent flavours in contemporary but satisfying servings. Very large pub with lots of tables it does get very busy, particularly at Sunday lunch, but it is well worth hunting out a table. Various beers on tap with a changing range of real ale alongside staples such as Black Sheep. Best pub in the area by a country mile! lesamourai - 25 May 2010 20:00 |
