The pub was bought at auction in April 2015 by the Strutt family (Lord Rayleigh's family) and following major refurbishment was leased out and recently re-opened on 5th December 2016. When recently visited the food was excellent, the beer (always Adnams although not "tied", plus some guest beers) was good and the staff and ambience great!!!! Well worth a visit. Boarded up Dec 2013 - looks like it has been for a while. Terling has quite a few houses in the village...to much drinking wine at home me suspects. kernott1 - 23 Dec 2013 22:47 |
Good news the pub re-opened on Tuesday 11th September 2012, Although it is now named the Terling Inn. The Rayleigh coat of arms is still displayed on the front of the pub. The pub was closed for many months and put up for sale. The villagers fought hard to save the pub from permanent closure and the threat of possible re-development. Beer range is limited to GK IPA and GK Old Golden Hen at the moment. bignevski - 15 Sep 2012 10:53 |

When I was taken here (1995?), it was a cross between a pub and someone's front room. Update anyone? Vindaloo - 26 Aug 2003 13:59 |
