This is the lesser popular pub in the village but centainly the better one. A cosy feel to the place better in the winter than in the summer. I would give it 9/10 montie49 - 18 Jul 2011 08:01 |
Just an update on the Globe, since my first visit. Been back numerous times, because its the only pub in the village with any real atmosphere. The food is good and the chefs seafood is always good. Landlord and landlady, Dave and Sheila are always welcoming and you will see some village characters. Luckily for a village like Lympstone we still have one little gem of a real pub left. The Globe is it. Beers currently on, Bass, Otter, Adnams Broadside, Aspalls Cider, plus the usual lagers. Best pint of bass in the area. Enjoy Harleyman - 8 Jun 2011 09:48 |
Sheila and Dave took over as landlords in February 2010. The pub had lost a lot of its regulars, which they have attracted back. Very much a friendly Village Pub feel again now. Bass, London Pride and Otter permanently on and well kept. Food has improved ater a dodgy chef or two. Log fire in Winter. Occasional music. Quiz Tuesdays. Other events. toyday - 17 Dec 2010 08:31 |
Half pub, half restaurant. But don't that put you off. Friendly with a good pint and decent menu. What more can you ask. Last night they had Bass and London Pride on, the Otter having just run out. Quite busy early on, despite the beer festival at the Swan. Lympstone is a great place, not designed for the car. So walk or take the train. However if you do drive. The car park is free, after six, and only a short walk. captaineric - 3 Jul 2010 17:38 |
Went in on Saturday after a cycle ride. Superb pint of Otter, nice warm surroundings and a friendly Landlady. Menu looks good, especially the chefs seafood platter so will be back to try some grub. Harleyman - 30 May 2010 21:56 |
