It has taken me ages to get round to visit this pub and the place was really quite pleasant.

It is a modern pub with a foodie vibe but there were drinkers in there and plenty of places to sit and have a pint.

Three ales on which is good for a pub this size.

Lympstone is a pleasant village where you can do a mini pub crawl using a very handy train station right in the centre of the village.

8/10

Update since last visit, the pub has closed again and is now being re gutted and allegedly will open in July. So watch this space for my next review.

The pub is now closed again. It is believed to be re-opening, after another small refurb, as a resturant/bistro/bar, some time in early 2011. Watch this space!

Nice looking pub in a beautiful riverside village but the management is wofully inept, seemingly having never worked in a pub before.
The menu was such a complete mismatch of bits and pieces so I didnt bother to eat.

Nice pub, recently refurbed and a bit more "Restauranty" than "Pubby", but good beer selection, 4 plus ales 4 ciders and good grub. Plus the benefits of being a free house means good beer prices, currently an ale for about 2.60 always on the tap, which is a cracker. The Palmers is good and they also have "Chalkies Bite" on from Rick Stein, which has a slightly ginger tang and is great with food. Worth a try and good garden and parking available.
