| An eating rather than a drinking establishment but to be fair, the food is usually excellent and the surroundings relaxed and pleasant. Beer choice is the sort of thing you would perhaps have enthused about twenty years ago but now just seems lacklustre and unimaginative, most coming from the Marston's stable. Has an enormous garden which tends to get packed in summer - perhaps the best time to visit the pub. This is not a really the right place to just drink. However it is a woderful place to eat and drink. The food and service are of a high standard. Good selection of beer - well kept Breakespears and Flowes on my last visit. Comfortable atmosphere and extensive gardens. | Definitely a place for eating-and-drinking rather than just drinking, but the food is good (not cheap, but not vastly expensive either) and the beer is OK. Better for dinner than for lunchtime snacks. Pleasant ambience inside, and a large attractive garden. cato - 10 Jun 2010 15:58 |
