The most grown up and genteel of the bars on this strip. More of a restaurant, but you can just drink. Enjoy a summer pint on the terrace overlooking the harbour. They always serve good local beers: Butcombe, Bath Ales, and Bristol Beer Factory. Not cheap, but worth it. Upstairs there's a very swish wine bar. You can see the harbout lights twinkling , and while your other half drinks cocktails you can sample the eclectic, but expensive, list of bottled beers. therealblackbeard - 1 Jun 2011 19:23 |
Very open, spacious and modern bar/bistro/restaurant/deli/cookery school (!) In spite of all that, the bar areas actually quite decent and whilst it can look a bit like a restaurant bar that nobody apart from the waiting staff actually go to, thats not generally the case and there are a number of bar stools for punters to sit at, plus a small number of tables that arent occupied by diners. Of the seven beers/lagers/ciders on tap, there was only one (Budvar) thats not brewed within about 10 miles of the pub. How impressive is that? For the record, they are Bath Ales Jem and Organic Lager, Bristol Beer Factory Sunrise and Stout, Ashton Press Cider and Butcombe. If youre looking for somewhere cosy, this isnt the place for you. On the other hand if you want a drink by the water and fancy something a little more upmarket than the rest of the venues nearby, Id say it was well worth a try. Blackthorn - 6 Apr 2010 09:32 |
