Me and my wife visited this pub and thought on the hole the place was ok. My pints of Greene King ipa were of an acceptable level as were the glasses of wine we had too, all at a reasonable price. We had a jacket with prawns for lunch and that was very good too. The pub is a huge beautiful thatched building with benches outside and cosy with beams and open fires on the inside. It is however in a very odd location in a cul-de-sac on a housing estate. It must have been here long before the estate was and would have been much better off on the main road which is only metres away behind a hedge. 8/10 montie49 - 8 Apr 2013 18:23 |

If you're a beer lover then avoid at all costs. Very rarely have I not finished a pint before walking out; this was one time. When my companion complained about the condition of the Abbott Ale he was offered another round by the clueless barmaid who apparently thought it would be ok to serve another another pint of the same rubbish. The Portugese landlord hasn't a clue how to keep cask beer and takes umbrage when told so instead of improving the cleanliness of his pipes. How difficult is it to listen to your customers? This is not the first time I've been disappointed here, but it will be the last. Colourshifter - 5 Jul 2010 23:14 |
