Beers from the Otter range as you would expect. Had the Otter ale, which was in very good condition. The Mrs. and I had some tapas which was great at a very reasonable price. The upstairs section is for dining, and was very busy, but we ate in the downstairs bar. Very friendly staff. Would certainly visit again. captaineric - 4 Aug 2016 11:27 |
Popped in early on a Friday night for a few ales, all of which were very good indeed. The place started filling up rapidly and if you hadn't booked for food you had no chance. I saw many being turned away so the place must have a fine reputation. It is still ok to just have a beer in here and I thought the place was quite pleasant with a good atmosphere. 7/10 montie49 - 5 Jan 2016 18:41 |
Stopped here en route to Cornwall for a quick lunch and was delighted to find it's one of the few pubs in Britain that does beer flights - a selection of small glasses of the full range of Otter Ales on draught. Friendly service, nice home made soup, interior a little too Al-Bar-One for my taste, but the pub gets 8/10 from me just for the beer flights :) Teddy_Boy - 5 Nov 2012 10:53 |
Popped in during a recent visit to nearby Branscombe to try the range of Otter beers. Tried the Otter Bright 4.3% and it was tip top. Not gin clear, but I was the first in after opening at 5.30pm so the beer had been sat a while. It was however exceptional really enjoyed it. Would recommend. It's a wine bar type pub, but has a cosy warm feel to it. Mothbag - 12 Sep 2011 10:49 |
The real ales sampled were unfortunately all served at room temperature as they had probably been sitting in the pipe overnight as the pub was fairly empty. Some improved cooling to the beer lines AND the hand pump is required. kebabman - 10 Aug 2011 11:23 |
