Have been driving past this pub for years thinking "That looks like a cosy pub" finally had a chance to stop in for a beer tonight. Very good service from friendly staff Recently refitted (around May 2012 , I think) Well fitted out by Chef & Brewer, but now more of a restaurant, with attached pub, Lacking a bit of atmosphere though, and quite cold. Toilets very clean , although alarmingly , though newly fitted out, the cold taps were covered in some sort of flying insects, that seemed to be coming out of a hole behind the washstand. Pub well lit, but the outside sign unlit, making the place look closed ! The Doom Bar was well and truly flat Headed 300 yards up the road to the Frog & Wicket for a second pint Pub garden looks like it could be great in Summer (and not on a rainy Winters night !!!) halfpinter - 31 Oct 2012 23:10 |

We have been visiting this pub for meals for some time now and have not been disappointed. The food is very good, reasonably priced, the portion size large, and the Sunday Carvery also highly recommended! This is a proper old pub in a quiet location with friendly staff and real atmosphere. Well worth a visit!! tikkachick - 29 Sep 2010 16:16 |
