Passed by in the car recently (didn't have time to call) and it seems to be open. dpaajones - 31 Mar 2014 12:45 |
I drove past the pub today and found that it was closed with a large estate agent's board on it stating that it was to be auctioned. An old boy was walking past pushing a huge barrow of manure (I'm not kidding). He was happy to stop and talk. He told me that it has been auctioned and thet the local talk is that it will be reopened in late April or early May. I think I will visit in late May to see what it is like. I hope that old boy was right. I would hate to see the loss of another rural pub. Roburite - 24 Mar 2012 19:08 |
Myself and a friend went for lunch today as it was recommended, and I had been there a number of years ago. There was only one other customer in there, but we thought we would give it a try. We ordered the beef and cheese baguette and Chips each. The presentation was ok, with a nice looking fresh garnish. Unfortunately the beef was very dry and hard to eat, my friends roll had half the filling missing and most of the cheese. The Chips tasted of old well used cooking oil. I went up to pay, (having had searched for someone and waiting for 5 minutes) and said that I thought the meal was not very good, dry and mostly inedible. The landlady/chef apologised, but did not offer any reduction in the cost,. I was very dissappointed with our trip out to this pub, and would not go again. daj - 31 May 2011 18:59 |
Large village pub with an American Western theme. Food is reasonably priced but not amazing, with the menu concentrating on steak it seems. Two ales on, neither local. Overall, not particularly impressed. 6/10 dpaajones - 30 May 2011 17:48 |
