I was surprised to see a Slug and Lettuce in the Good Beer Guide, but thought I would give this one a go. Three ales were on - Oakham Inferno, Isle of Purbeck Force Four & Partners Blonde. The interior was typical of a Slug & Lettuce and was fairly bland. Large flags of all of the European Championships football nations were displayed at the rear, indicating that the pub caters for sports fans. We were glad to visit before the 'action' commenced. Possibly worth a try if you're in the main shopping area of Leicester. But not one I would actively return to. Nevertheless, it is a better Slug & Lettuce than most. blue_scrumpy - 25 Jun 2012 21:25 |

Would never have visted if not in Beer Guide, but the Inferno was very good even if not a pub I'd linger in if not eating. mtaylor40 - 24 Nov 2011 18:58 |
Quite a shock to find such good beer (quality and selection) in a bar llike this but I'm glad a popped in for one before dashing to catch my train home! Hopefully other S&L's will follow suit as this is a shining example of what can be done to blend in a contemporary style eating house with a smart bar with real ale. I had Oakham Inferno which is always to be recommended!! Well done to the management and let's see some more like this. mcroyal - 14 Aug 2011 09:50 |
Two recent excursions have seen Punk IPA and Leeds Gathering Storm crop up. All for about 2 a pint I believe. Sky Sports as well. Good atmosphere. dynamiteninja - 11 Nov 2010 19:12 |
