This place has received endless makeovers but retains its fine pub sign. The latest is pleasing in an albeit crisp shirted Tory kind of way - food was exemplary and some choices even verged on the affordable. Three beers on tap from local heroes Rebellion was also a sign of good decision making, the kitsch art on the walls and muzak less so. BoehmBawerk - 5 Sep 2015 21:17 |
Didn't think much to this newly revamped Golden Ball. Nice decor, should've spent some money paying for better chefs though. Food is obviously bought in, bland and overpriced for what you get (if you know you're getting boil in the bag' you only expect to pay 'boil in the bag' prices. Service was slow and uninspiring, lager was flat and warm. I certainly won't be rushing back here. Rolopa - 24 Jul 2010 15:59 |
