Popped in as it was listed as a dog friendly pub. A cheery welcome as we walked through the door, boded well. Nice Pint of Timothy Taylors Boltmaker (Champion Beer 2014) in front of an open fire (not sure about the gas fired "real fire" in the next room). The pub is under new management and was being refurbished but there was a pleasant atmosphere and the food was reasonable (but the chips weren't good - needed to change the cooking oil). The pub is owned by the village and is clearly an asset which should be cherished. mithrandir1967 - 30 Oct 2014 18:31 |
Popped in here for a few pints in the summer before a weddding over the road. Lovely massive beer garden makes this a decent destination in the summer. bryanroy22 - 23 Nov 2011 11:40 |
An absolute gem of a pub. Traditional country pub full of wood beams, low ceilings and nice locals. Ale fans will be happy here, and the service was with a smile and some banter. Only critisism would be the sandwhiches we ordered were a bit poor for the price. but all in all it didnt detract much from a great pub experience. CHELSEA_on_tour - 24 Aug 2011 15:26 |
Went on Monday 8 March 2010. Excellent pint of Courage Best (that's saying something!) and a great plate of ham, egg, chips and peas for 8.50. Staff need some guidance but all together an enjoyable visit, well done the villagers! Pubspymaster - 11 Mar 2010 18:11 |
Great pub owned by the village. Usually 4 or 5 beers on, typically from Rebellion, Brakespears, Youngs and various guests, which are all very well kept. Large garden for the kids out the back. tpfirt - 9 Mar 2010 16:37 |
