Although mainly a restaurant, there is a bar at the front and it was a pleasant surprise to find a polypin of Westerham Finchcocks on sale. anotherpintplease - 23 Dec 2012 11:26 |
A bit pokey. Haven't visited this century, but I remember the bar billiards table taking up the whole of one bar - doubt if it's there now. tommo5 - 2 Aug 2011 17:30 |
The Coppingham is still a pleasant place to drink, the fact that there is no real ale is more down to the brewery and not the owners. It is a clean and bright vibrant place where you can go and have a laugh and a drink and a fantastic meal in the Jai Ho (resturant side) if you want to, how perfect is that! The staff go out of their way to be pleasant whether you stay for a meal or not. If you do stay and have a meal or collect a take away the food is outstanding and produces by far the best Fusion food in at least a twenty mile radius of Horley. As far as the prices go, the lager is not any higher in price than any of the independants in Horley, the house wine is exceptional quality and is priced very reasonably. True is you are looking for the old traditional pub, you are probably better off going elsewhere, but want to try a meal you won't forget give it a go!! savethepub - 2 Jun 2010 06:53 |
Used to be a pleasant enough little local, perhaps lacking in interior character but keeping a cross-section of folk happy, with more of a focus on being a pub than a restaurant. A couple of well-kept cask ales used to feature and 2 years ago it even secured a Good Beer guide berth. How times change. Popped in the other day believing to still be a pub, but it don't be deceived: it doubles as an Indian restaurant, and the emphasis now is clearly very much on curry. Needless to say the real beer has been booted out, so I'm afraid I made my excuses and left. It's probably fine if you fancy a biryani and over-priced lager, and good luck to the new guy, but this is off my list. TWG - 8 Mar 2010 17:40 |
