Glad we phoned to book for a 12noon table as by the time we left at 130pm, they were full. We went with our 2yr old and 4yr old. Whilst they had no highchairs ( you'll need to take a booster seat) they were great with the kids, making 'warm' chocolate and dividing my pudding (trio of icecream) into 3 separate one scoop portions. No separate kids menu, just smaller portions.,which we prefer anyway. Can't comment on nappy changing facilities as we didn't require them. Nice (child) friendly staff too. Sunday roast = as per posting below, very good portions and tasty beef gravy, meat cooked as requested. We plan to do another country walk and end up here again soon. louisedubya - 8 Jan 2012 17:25 |
Very impressed by this pub now! Not visted in a while and its now under new management... the food is fantastic, we went for Sunday lunch and loved the generous portions, beef was cooked perfectly to order, service was great, relaxed atmosphere. We will be back! setekh - 13 Sep 2011 16:32 |
New menu coming in in February, 10% off on the old one for January! Beer (GK IPA Ruddles County and Abbot) in very good condition. What I'd call a proper pub, does what it does very well. Worth eating here, no doubt the boy Tom can cook! metrology_man - 29 Jan 2009 14:47 |
Country pub 10mins walk from Wokingham; pleasant and with very good GK beer. mtaylor40 - 13 Jan 2009 21:51 |
Martin and Vida are gone (best of luck to them) and its hello to Tom, Dave and Tracey. Beer is still in fine fettle, and the overall feel hasn't fortunately changed. New menu which looks good and at first sampling, food very good too. Worth a visit - a pub that does the simple things well and has a welcome for all. metrology_man - 29 Aug 2008 10:40 |
