Now a Loch Fyne restaurant (Loch Fyne were bought out by Greene King a couple of years back). The lovely Art Deco signage at the front has been removed. A shame but given there were two GK pubs within a short walk of each other one of them was going to get the boot. Quinno - 25 Aug 2009 09:52 |
This was a great pub, such a shame it's closed tuzapicabit - 28 Apr 2009 08:04 |
Definitely now a Loch Fyne restaurant. Greedy King seem to have lost a huge amount of trade, as this car park used to be very crowded, but now seems little used! It was quite good for food and ale five years ago. arthur256 - 16 Mar 2009 16:31 |
This pub has now shut is currently in the process of being converted into a Loch Fyne restaurant. Shags - 22 May 2008 13:39 |
Yet more Greedy King on the Wokingham outskirts, a boringly sad monopoly. However, unlike the Three Frogs/Poplars/White Horse, this is an enjoyable place to sink a couple of pints; IPA, Abbot and Speckled Hen on offer today (and the Abbot was particularly good). Pub follows the usual GK out-of-town bar resteraunt feel, however this one is a tad more upmarket and the outside seating provides a good place for a lazy beer on a summers afternoon, even if it is by the main road. Perhaps a bit too cavernous inside to generate a particularly cosy feel, this is still a notch above a number of other offerings nearby. Quinno - 26 Mar 2007 23:55 |
