A standard Greene King pub. A bit grubby looking. Several Greene King brews available. I had the IPA which was ok but rather uninspiring. The staff were friendly. I was asked if I wanted my pint in a handled glass. I thought these were withdrawn for safety reasons 30 years ago. Very few customers but it was a mid-week evening. wirraldrinker - 16 Mar 2017 13:07 |
This place had a mini refurb about 12 months ago and you get the impression the new managers (whom I believe took over from that guy who drinks martini and that small lady who reminded me very much of peggy mitchell) are trying very hard to make this "work" Customer service was second to none and nothing was "too much trouble" attitude from the staff. The food was delicious and reasonable priced too , Hand battered fish on offer on a Friday 2 for 7.99 cheaper than a fish and chip shop !! some reasonable prices on wines too, Real ale available and the IPA (Greeneking) was perfect I beleive its only just got back the cask marque for real ale (this was lost with the previous managers) Staff are really friendly and quick to eliminate any trouble brewing (unlike in the past ) such a shame a few of the local residents still don't wasnt to visit here due to the old and very out dated reputation this place had , its changed so much with the new managers however the local residents are still happy to park in the car park for free !! try this place you will be surprised at how much this has changed ! like2pub - 8 Oct 2010 19:30 |
15 years ago this was an 'in' place but no longer. A standard Greene King pub with all that that entails. wirraldrinker - 30 Jul 2009 20:42 |
