Probably the best pub we went to all day.

Place was smart inside and outside has a very commanding view over Woolacombe and out to see.

One of the only pubs that I would go back to if in the area.

2 ales. Tribute and lighthouse ale. Decent quality. Music too loud. Nice Dogs allowed. WiFi available

This pub, formerly known as the Golden Hind, which closed before Christmas, re-opened recently after an expensive refit. All the furniture is new, the carpet and curtains are gone, the gents toilet has been refurbished and the bar has been shortened by a few feet. Unfortunately, as has been apparent in other pubs that have turned to wooden floors and no curtains, the noise bouncing off the walls and floors can make conversation difficult. The pool table and dartboards have gone, to make room for more seating in the restaurant area, which has been described as looking like a caf. The food menu appears to be reasonably priced with a fair selection, and I have heard positive reports about the quality of the meals. On tap last week were Tribute and Proper Job. Some of the drinks are more expensive than the Red Barn just down the road, and a number of drinkers who were regular customers at the Golden Hind are using the Red Barn and Bar Electric rather than The Tides Inn.
The outside seating area is popular and has great views out to sea.
Its early days yet, and it will be interesting to see how things go in the future, but I think they need to attract back the regular local customers they have lost, or they could find business a bit quiet when there are no holidaymakers to rely on.
