| I visited in early August, on a beautiful sunny day, just as lunch time meal service was winding down. The building is very nice with a large car park and generous sun terrace. Lunch appears to have been popular with a number of couples and small groups finishing off their meals. Inside the decoration is a neutral modern, with an open lay-out, muted colours, exposed beams and stone floors. It felt like it had been fairly recently refurbished and it looked good. They had 3-4 real ales on draft, a selection of lagers, ciders and wines as well. The serving staff were friendly and helpful. Having already eaten I just enjoyed a couple of soft drinks, and some quiet relaxation with a book. Before leaving I gave the menu a look over, it seems very promising, with moderate-high prices for pub food, but a very nice selection of things to choose from. | Food is allegedly very good in here. Me and the woman went in there last Saturday evening, and found the menu was far too extravagent. No starter she could have (only 1 I would eat), and nothing on the standard mains menu for either of us (far too vegetarian and poncey). There was a steak on the specials board and that was it. | Avoid this place. Food awful (I mean really awful). Dire service. 'Couldn't care less' attitude - couldn't care until I refused to pay the bill that is. I was threatened with the police but they backed down when I offered to call them on my phone. This was in 2008 so perhaps things have changed. torra - 16 Jan 2010 17:17 |
