A foodie Hall and Woodhouse pub. Badger's beer: Glorious Game, First Call and Tanglefoot. Meals from about £10 - okay. fugglehops - 6 Oct 2016 21:57 |
Had a refurb a couple of years ago, food orientated, but still a good locals drinking hole. Pigfarmer - 17 Mar 2014 12:17 |
Good village pub, leaning more towards food. Badger ales were on - Badger, Hopping Hare and Tanglefoot...TV in the corner and large pub garden...would visit if in the area again.. d.franks - 15 Jul 2012 18:43 |
Pleasant pub with friendly staff. Carpeted floor, candles on table. Reasonably priced food served promptly. Owned by Hall & Woodhouse. I had a pint of Fursty Ferret. Robin_from_Swanage - 3 Dec 2011 14:48 |
Nice building, but that's the most positive thing that can be said about this pub. We arrived at 7.30 to be told in a cold manner to come back in about 30 minutes as the tables were full and there was an hour's wait for food. We returned an hour later and asked for a table, only to be informed rudely by a member of the bar staff that the kitchen was closed as they had run out of food (bearing in mind that a sign on the door said that the pub served food until 9pm). We heard similar reports from a few other tourists who had also tried the Ship Inn. Not to be recommended. Daluis - 5 Jun 2011 20:13 |
