| Pub has been shut for a while but is due to reopen early August 2009 after "gastrofication"into a restaurant/bistro is completed. No surprise there as very many, if not most, rural pubs in North Yorkshire have gone down this route in some form. Once reopened it may sell beer and may welcome casual drinking non-diners but the new owner's reported comments don't fully engender optimism on that score, he is apparently an award winning chef who has previously cooked for royal and aristocratic punters.
